It’s the perfect location for an intimate wedding of up to 120 people with space for both the ceremony and the reception.
The cute chapel aesthetic in the backdrop of the Virginia countryside is something you won’t find in the immediate Richmond vicinity.
A Traditional Wedding Venue
Salem Chapel is a traditional wedding ceremony venue with high ceilings and original pews. The timeless space has been a ceremonial setting for over a hundred years.
Originally constructed in 1884, Salem Chapel was named after the Hebrew word for peace, “Shalom” (or Salem). The name may have been chosen after the battle of Sailor’s Creek at the end of the Civil War. For years, this chapel shared the Gospel and took an active role in its community.
Refurbished for Modern Comfort
In recent years, Salem Chapel needed to be refurbished without losing its rustic feel. We made additions to give the space a fluid and open feel but we still kept the historic chapel feel.
You’ll find the welcoming and unique wedding venue is the ideal intimate setting for up to 120 guests.

Beautiful chapel and event center!! A lot of detail and hard work went into reviving and adding to this beautiful place. Perfect place to have a wedding: with a luxury bridal suite, chapel to be married in and then it’s a skip the event center! Never having to leave the building at all. I had my daughter’s 2nd birthday party at the event center and it was WONDERFUL AND PERFECT in every way!
